BUTTON RUNWAY—always fashion-focused
The term style for the World Button Association revolves around the world of Fashion—thus the name Button Runway. We will visit fashion museums, manufacturers, and fashion university/college programs from around the world. We will also introduce and focus on Upcycling—a dynamic new movement that has interested a new demographic—those ranging in age 20-50.
While our focus may seem different from antique button collecting, it's a short journey back in time to understand the how, why, and what of fashion over the ages. When you hear the phrase “Button Runway,” it may evoke imaginative concepts. Our first program, a tour of the Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto, CA, is just the beginning of our enlightening educational journey. Button Runway programs are scheduled on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Be sure to check out the WBA event calendar. Please let us know if you have fashion questions you would like to discuss or if you would like to be a steering committee member.
